Protect Wineham and Shermanbury through local involvement in Neighbourhood Planning

Wineham and Shermanbury Neighbourhood Plan 2025 (WASP2)

In 2025 a new Horsham District Plan will be adopted and the existing WASP will lose its power to protect the parish. We therefore need to update the current plan to reflect the current political and environmental situation. We will not know what changes the Government will require of Horsham District until next year, but we can research, with your help, the needs and desires for Shermanbury and Wineham.

The plan will be based on what you tell us in this survey, at focus groups & at public meetings.

Now we want to know:-

  • What you value in the parish?
  • What you feel is missing from the parish?
  • What you would like to see changed in the parish?

Your ideas may typically address:-

  • Housing needs – house size, type, affordability, location
  • Unwelcome developments such as the potential development of up to 3,500 homes in Sayers Common and Albourne
  • The preferred design of new homes and extensions
  • Public transport, traffic, communications and services
  • Encouraging new & supporting existing business
  • Local community facilities
  • Protection of listed buildings and green spaces

…………and anything else of interest to you.

How are you going to tell us (by Friday 30th January):- either

  • Write your comments on the attached sheet & return it in the stamped, addressed envelope. Please let us know your e-mail address for ease of future contact.
  • Complete the online survey on the right-hand side of the page.
  • Let us know if you would like to be part of a focus group.

Later we will hold meetings to obtain your more detailed opinions on topics and will report progress on the parish website www.shermanburyparishcouncil.co.uk Your local knowledge, your opinions and your ideas on what needs to be done can make a real difference to the future of the parish. Together we can arrive at a consensus on the key issues and desired outcomes.

Thank you.
